Regional Information

Niederösterreich (Lower Austria) is Austria's largest Qualitätswein wine-growing region. It's located in the north eastern part of Austria surrounding the capital Vienna. The region is home to a patchwork of soils and climates that are well suited to the culivation of quality grapes for winemaking.

Vinification Details

Following machine harvesting of organic grapes and immediate pressing, the fermentation occured over 8 days in stainless steel to maintain fresh fruit aromas. The wine was kept on fine lees until to increase depth before it was filtered and fined prior to bottling.

History

This Gruner Veltliner has been blended by famed winemaker Niki Moser using organic grapes from selected vineyards in Niederösterreich. According to the Moser family chronicle, they have been growing wine in the Danube region for 17 generations. Wine pioneer Dr. Lenz Moser (1905-1973) gained worldwide recognition as the developer of the revolutionary high vine training system. Since 2000, the winery has been led by Nikolaus Moser, continuing the family's legacy with a modern vision.
