Preparation and Usage

The mussels in this product have been prepared for your convenience. The shells may already be open prior to cooking. This is perfectly normal. If the remaining mussels have not opened, after following the on-pack preparation instructions, continue cooking (30 additional seconds in the microwave or 1 additional minute on the hob). After this, discard any mussels that do not open.

When cold, the sauce may appear to have separated. This is a natural reaction to refrigeration. Simply reheat, according to the on-pack instructions, and stir to mix before serving.

Microwave

Instructions: 800W / 900W1 pouch: 2 mins 30 secs2 pouches: 4 minsOpen pouch or pouches.Empty the contents into a microwaveable dish and cover.Stir halfway through.Leave to stand for 1 minute before serving.

Hob

Instructions: 1 pouch: 4 mins2 pouches: 5 minsOpen pouch or pouches. Empty contents into a saucepan and place over a moderate heat. Cover and simmer gently for 4 minutes (one pouch) or 5 minutes (two pouches).Stir occasionally.

Boil in the Bag

Instructions: For best results simmer in the bag. Remove outer packaging. Place unopened pouch or pouches in a saucepan of boiling water. During cooking: Return to the boil and simmer gently for 7 minutes (one pouch) or 8 minutes (two pouches). Gently shake the pouch before carefully cutting open with scissors to serve.

Storage

Suitable for freezing. Ideally freeze as soon as possible after purchase but always by 'use by' date shown. Not suitable for cooking from frozen. Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 12 hours in the fridge. Once defrosted use within 24 hours and do not refreeze. Keep refrigerated.
