Regional Information

Climate: Maritime Mediterranean climate, with coastal influences tempering the heat, while higher-altitude areas offer cooler conditions. Terroir: Diverse, from fertile riverbanks with alluvial soils to cooler mountain slopes, featuring sandstone and shale. Style: Known for quality, fruit-forward wines, though increasingly producing premium, terroir-driven styles

Vinification Details

Handpicked in cool early mornings to preserve freshness, grapes are harvested at varying ripeness levels for a complex profile. They undergo 3 hours of skin contact to extract fruit character and protect natural acidity. Whole bunches are gently pressed with a lower juice recovery for higher quality. After settling clear over two days, the juice is inoculated with selected yeast strains and fermented in stainless-steel tanks at 12°C to 15°C. No malolactic fermentation is performed, preserving its acidity.

History

Located just 40km east of Cape Town, Stellenbosch is South Africa's premier and most historic wine-producing region. Renowned globally for its world-class Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux blends, the district features a maritime Mediterranean climate, over 150 cellar doors, and diverse, clay-rich granite soils.
