| Product Care Instructions | Remove from packaging immediately and soak the plug in a shallow dish of water for a few minutes. Pot on immediately or within 1–2 days, keeping the plugs indoors in a warm, sunny place and ensuring the compost plug does not dry out. Turn plugs as they grow towards the light. When ready to pot on, lift by the leaves (not the stem) and pot into 9cm pots with potting on compost, planting so the seedling leaves are proud of the surface. Tap to settle and water well. Once plants reach approx 15cm (6in), harden off by placing outdoors during the day and back undercover at night for about a week. After hardening off and once final frosts have passed, plant out in the final position (borders, patio pots, etc.) using peat-free or general-purpose compost. Water before planting, make a hole the size of the pot, plant up to the same level as the original pot, and water again to settle the compost around the root ball. |
