Olea (Olive) Europaea STD 18cm Potted Plant x 1 + Grey Planter x 1

These evergreen trees feature attractive grey-green foliage atop a slender stem, making them a superb architectural feature for patios, doorways or balconies. In hot summers, the trees may produce small fragrant flowers followed by smooth green fruits.

Supplied as a pair of 80–90cm standard trees in 18cm pots, each accompanied by a stylish grey planter, they’re ideal for framing entrances or growing in sunny, sheltered spots.

How to Grow:
Grow olive trees in large containers of soil-based compost such as John Innes No.3. In very mild areas, they can be planted directly into neutral to alkaline garden soil in a warm, sheltered position. Avoid very fertile soils, which may encourage leaf growth at the expense of fruit.

Aftercare:
Keep the base weed-free and mulch in spring with compost or manure to retain moisture. Water regularly during dry spells, especially in the first few years. Prune lightly in late spring or early summer to shape and encourage new growth. Container-grown trees should be moved to a sheltered position or cold greenhouse in winter. Young plants benefit from frost protection in colder months.
