Description

Unwins Chilli Pepper Sizzler Seeds are a compact Jalapeno variety that have a moderate heat of around 10,000 SHUs.

This chilli pepper is early to fruit, with a heavy crop, giving you a trusty supply of peppers to add a touch of spice to your dishes.

Sow: Feb to Apr
Harvest: Jul to Oct

Sowing Indoors
Level fill a module seed tray, firming with the base of another tray. Water well with a fine rose. Sow seeds individually and cover with a thin layer of fine compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator at 18–25 °C or cover the tray with cling film in a warm room. Keep moist.

Growing On
When shoots appear, remove cling film. Keep seedlings in a light position but shaded from direct sunlight. When plants have 4–6 leaves, transplant to 8 cm pots of potting compost. Maintain a minimum temperature of 15 °C. Pinch growing tips to encourage bushy growth.

Planting Out
Plant into 25 cm containers once roots begin to come through the bottom of the 8 cm pot. Keep indoors on a windowsill, in a greenhouse, or a sunny sheltered patio spot. Stems may need support.

Aftercare
Water regularly and feed weekly with a liquid tomato fertiliser as fruits start to swell.

Caution
Wash hands and avoid eye contact after handling chillis.
