Description

Polka is a late primocane raspberry recommended by the Royal Horticultural Society, giving fruit on both new and old wood for a long cropping season from August to November. It produces very high yields of quality fruit, performs well on poorer soils and shows good resistance to mildew. Supplied as three bare-root canes, plants reach around 1.8 m and prefer full sun and slightly acidic, fertile, well-drained, moisture-retentive soil. Plant in autumn or early spring (October to April) in a weed-free, sunny sheltered spot; add compost or fertiliser before planting and avoid waterlogged or frozen ground. Support and prune canes as needed to maintain vigour and encourage continued cropping.
