Sow January–April; seeds typically germinate in 2-3 weeks. Grow in light, well-drained, fertile soil rich in organic matter, in full sun, and expect plants to reach about 45cm. For quicker returns while the leeks mature, plant catch crops such as Match or Bijou lettuces between rows. Follow standard seed sowing and spacing: sow in quality seed compost, plant 15cm deep with 15cm between plants and 30cm between rows for best results.
