Fritillaria imperialis 'Rubra' (Crown Imperial) produces bold crimson bell-shaped flowers atop tall, upright stems reaching 80-100 cm, adding dramatic colour to borders in April and May. Supplied as a pack of 3 bulbs, this hardy spring bulb thrives in partial sun or light shade and pairs well with late-spring bulbs and early perennials. Plant bulbs at least 20cm deep in autumn (September to December) in well-drained soil for best results. The variety is pollinator-friendly and makes excellent, long-lasting cut flowers.
