Teeling - Revival Volume II - Calvados Casks 2002 13 year old Whiskey After the first revival release of a 15 year old in 100% Rum casks comes a 13 year old with 12 years in Ex-Bourbon casks and finished for 1 year in Calvados (french apple brandy) casks. Another delightful and experimental release from the Teeling distillery. Nose: Baked apples, poached pears in vanilla stock syrup, baked pasty goods, shortbread biscuits, almonds, green grape jelly. Palate: Poached pears or pear drops galore, baked apple pie with nutmeg topped pastry, white chocolate, sugared almonds, soft spice and creamy oak. Finish: Elegant with more apple and pear fruit, vanilla, marzipan and cake icing. A very delicate and elegant Irish whiskey that is almost like drinking or even dunking for apples and making a tarte tatin out of said apples, pudding malt anyone? Think 25: Please be prepared to show ID when receiving alcohol deliveries.
