Description

Phlox subulata 'Candy Stripe' - creeping phlox that forms a dense mat of evergreen foliage smothered in pink-and-white candy-striped flowers in spring and early summer, ideal as low-maintenance groundcover. Hardy and drought-tolerant once established, suitable for full sun positions, borders, rockeries, pots and patios, prefers well-drained slightly acidic to neutral soil, expected height about 10cm, planting April–June, blooms May–June.

Product Care InstructionsRemove plugs from packaging immediately upon delivery. Soak the plug of compost in a shallow dish of water for a few minutes. Pot on immediately or within 1–2 days, keeping the plugs indoors in a warm, sunny place and ensuring the compost plug does not dry out. Turn plugs as they grow towards the light. When potting on, lift by the leaves (not the stem) and plant so the seedling leaves are proud of the surface. Tap to settle the compost and water well. Once plants reach approx 15cm (6in) tall, harden off by placing outdoors during the day and back undercover at night for about a week before planting out in their final location.
