Description

Marshalls Garden Pea 'Sugar Sprint' is an early sugarsnap variety that produces sweet, nearly stringless pods on short, mostly self-supporting plants. It offers excellent resistance to powdery mildew and pea enation mosaic virus for reliable, high-quality harvests.Sowing: Sow outdoors Apr–Jun in a flat-bottomed trench 5cm (2in) deep and 20cm (8in) wide. Water the trench and sow seeds 7.5cm (3in) apart, then backfill and firm lightly. Allow 60cm (24in) between rows.Growing and care: Plants reach about 90cm in height and generally need little or no staking, though you can support them with netting and sticks as they grow. Use well-drained, fertile, moisture-retentive soil and keep it consistently moist, especially in dry spells. Protect crops from birds and moths with netting.
