Description

Marshalls Garden Goblin is a compact, heavy-cropping cucumber variety that produces up to 55 handy-sized fruits per plant, making it perfect for patio containers and small gardens. Plants are attractive and show good resistance to downy mildew. Each pack contains 15 seeds; sow in moist, fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Start seeds indoors from April in quality seed compost or sow outdoors late May–June when soil is warm, then transplant after frost risk has passed with about 45cm spacing. Harvest regularly from June to October and consider companion planting with marigolds or nasturtiums to help deter pests.

Product Care InstructionsIndoor Sowing: Start seeds indoors from April, sowing into small pots of quality seed compost mixed with about 25% vermiculite for moisture retention. Keep them warm and bright on a sunny windowsill or in a heated propagator. Once Professional Grower Plugs develop a few true leaves and the risk of frost has passed, harden them off before moving outdoors or into a greenhouse. Planting Out: Harden Professional Grower Plugs gradually over 7–14 days, placing them outside for a few hours each day. Transplant into larger pots, growbags, or beds in fertile, well-drained soil in a sheltered sunny spot. Allow 45cm between plants and 45cm between rows. Outdoor Sowing: Direct sow from late May to June, when soil is warm and frost-free. Cover seeds lightly and water well. This method suits warmer regions, though indoor sowing gives a more reliable start in cooler areas. Harvesting: Cut cucumbers from the vine with a sharp knife or scissors to avoid damaging plants. Harvest regularly to encourage continuous cropping. Companion Planting: Grow cucumbers alongside marigolds, nasturtiums or radishes to deter pests and support healthier growth.
