Description

A compact, evergreen bay tree supplied as a 14cm potted plant, ideal for keeping fresh bay leaves by your kitchen door. It grows in most soil conditions and prefers a sheltered spot out of cold, leaf-scorching winds, thriving in partial sun. New leaves appear in early spring; with regular light pruning it stays compact and can be trained into shapes. Feed occasionally with a foliar feed to maintain glossy foliage, avoid chemical sprays if you use the leaves for cooking, and wash leaves before use. These plants have not had chemical treatments during their life. Expect an eventual height of around 1-3 m with regular pruning while remaining relatively slow-growing and low-maintenance.
