Description

Marshalls Garden Clematis 'Mrs Thompson' produces striking purple flowers striped with scarlet, flowering in early summer and often giving a second flush in autumn. Each bloom can reach up to 10cm across on a vigorous self-twining climber that typically grows to 1-1.5m and can be trained over pergolas, obelisks or trellises. Plant in moist but well-drained soil in partial sun, keeping the roots shaded; plant with the crown 5-8cm below ground or use a container at least 45cm in diameter. Supplied as a 2L pot, ready to plant; prune as a Group 2 clematis in late winter or early spring and reduce stems by half in midsummer after flowering.
