Description

Attractive Japanese Shield Fern with feathery fronds that emerge coppery-pink and mature to green. RHS Award of Garden Merit recipient. Tolerates full sun, partial shade or full shade and suits borders, shady beds or containers. Prefers moist, nutrient-rich, well-drained soil (pH 6.0–7.5) and reaches a 0.5–1 m spread when established. Mostly evergreen; cut back dead fronds in winter to encourage fresh growth.
