Description

Marshalls Garden kitchen bay tree supplied as 3 x 14cm plants, perfect for a windowsill or doorstep to give a steady supply of fresh bay leaves for cooking. This evergreen shrub grows in most soil conditions and prefers a sheltered, partially sunny spot away from cold, leaf-scorching winds. New leaves appear in early spring; plants are relatively slow-growing (1-3 m with regular pruning) and respond well to light pruning during the growing season to maintain size or create trained shapes. Feed occasionally with a foliar feed, avoid chemical sprays if using leaves for cooking, and wash leaves before use. Supplied untreated and excellent value as a starter plant for shaping or for everyday kitchen use.
