Description

Marshalls Garden Red Sun is an attractive, vigorous carrot variety with exceptional flavour, rich red colour and large cylindrical roots. Pack contains 300 seeds. Sow directly in light, well-draining soil or in deep containers on a sunny patio; carrots dislike transplanting. Sow about 1cm deep in shallow drills and keep soil consistently moist for good germination; protect early sowings with fleece if needed. Thin seedlings to 5-8cm apart to allow strong root development, taking care as thinning can attract carrot fly. Companion plant with onions, leeks or chives to help deter pests; lettuce and radishes make good row markers. Harvest by twisting gently at the crown or use a fork to lift roots from firm soil.
