Description

Marshalls Garden Pumpkin 'Crown Prince' produces large, round fruits (generally 2-4 kg) with smoky blue skin and vibrant orange flesh. The sweet, nutty flavour improves with roasting, making these pumpkins great for soups, pies, roasting and carving. This RHS Award of Garden Merit variety stores exceptionally well—fruits can keep for up to one year. Sow indoors early or outdoors from May after the last frosts in a sunny, sheltered spot with fertile, well-drained soil; space plants about 100 cm apart and thin to the strongest seedlings. Feed established plants every 10-14 days with a high-potash fertiliser, harvest when stems turn dry and corky, then cure fruits in the sun for 10-14 days before storing. Pack contains 5 seeds.
