Description

Lemon-yellow, spherical cucumbers with a tender, sweet flavour. Marshalls Garden 'Lemon' is an easy-grow, heavy-cropping round variety ideal for salads and pickling, offering a long, fruitful harvesting season. Sowing: place seeds on their side 1 cm deep in individual 9 cm (3½ in) pots filled with seed compost and keep at 20–25°C (70–75°F). As seedlings develop, grow on in cooler, light conditions but avoid direct sunlight. Transplant: move young plants to grow bags, pots or a greenhouse border and provide string or cane supports to train stems up. Outdoors: harden off for two to three weeks before planting out and space plants 30 cm (12 in) apart; provide a protected shelter (mini polytunnel) if possible. Care: regular picking promotes continued cropping; water well and feed with a high-potash fertiliser when flowers appear. Storage: store seeds in a cool, dry place. Pack contains 8 seeds.
