Description

Unwins Winter Giant 2 leek seeds produce a reliable, heavy crop with thick shanks, dark green foliage and excellent flavour. Sow indoors in trays, keep moist and transplant 15 cm deep with 15 cm spacing and 30 cm between rows to encourage long, tender white stems. Young shoots can be harvested after 2–3 weeks; mature plants are ready around eight months. Seeds have a ‘Sow by Date’ guideline — sow in the recommended season for highest germination, though later sowing may still produce plants with reduced germination rates.
