Description

Marshalls Garden Lettuce 'Kyrio' produces good-sized, loose heads of thick, tasty leaves that keep their freshness well after picking. Pack contains 350 seeds. This quick-growing variety tolerates hot weather, resists bolting and has good resistance to downy mildew, making it ideal for successive sowings through to late autumn. Sow indoors thinly 1 cm deep in pre-watered compost in trays or modules, keep at 10-15°C and maintain consistent moisture; once seedlings have 3-4 true leaves and fill their modules, harden off before planting out. Plant out after the risk of frost, spacing plants 25 cm apart with 30 cm between rows. Sow outdoors 1 cm deep in the final position, keep soil moist and thin to 25 cm. Keep well watered, sow small batches every three weeks for a continuous supply, and use netting to protect from birds and insects.
