Description

Early-season Strawberry 'Allegro' from Marshalls Garden fruits from early June to early July. Fast-growing and early to fruit, it produces large, high-sugar berries and typically starts earlier than other June-bearers. Upright plants carry flowers under the canopy, protecting blooms from light frosts; flowers are pollen-rich so fruit set is usually excellent with few misshapen berries. Shows good resistance to crown rot, Verticillium wilt and powdery mildew. Vigorous early growth reduces the need for nitrogen—switch to a high-potash feed once flowers and fruit appear. PREMIUM bare-root grade can produce up to 10 flower stalks with 6+ fruits per stalk, giving 3–4× more fruit in year one.
