Description

Marshalls Garden 'Polar Bear' F1 is a bold pumpkin variety producing large ghost-white fruits perfect for Halloween and autumn displays. Fruits can reach up to 25 kg and contain sweet yellow-orange flesh suited to roasting, pies and soups. This packet contains 8 seeds and performs well in rich, loamy soil, especially in raised beds or spacious containers. Sow indoors early or sow outdoors from May; plant 2-3 seeds 2.5cm deep, thin to the strongest seedling, allow 100cm between plants and feed with a high-potash fertiliser every 10-14 days once flowering. Harvest when stems turn dry and corky, then cure fruits in the sun or on a windowsill for 10-14 days to harden skins for storage.
