Description

Marshalls Garden Pear 'Doyenne du Comice' is a historic dessert variety first introduced to Britain in 1858 and reintroduced due to popular demand. The tree produces very large, fragrant fruits with golden-yellow skin and a slight red blush; the smooth, luscious flesh is exceptionally sweet and ideal for eating fresh or using in desserts. The vigorous, upright tree flowers with pure white blooms in mid-spring and is suited to small, sunny, well-drained sites. Supplied as a bare-root 5L tree on Quince A rootstock, it grows to approximately 3m (10ft) at full height and attracts pollinators when in flower.
