The organically grown Peruvian Cacao beans are first fermented to reduce their bitterness. They are then broken down into nibs, which are then ground down to produce a paste. The paste is then melted down and shaped into these enticing disks, approximately 3cm in diameter. This makes them ideal for melting down quickly. These smooth, dark buttons have a rich aroma of chocolate, reminiscent of drinking chocolate. As they have been produced at a low temperature they retain much of their nutritional value.Cacao Liquor has a concentrated chocolate flavour. For certain recipes we recommend adding a little more Cacao Butter or Butter Buttons to the mix to bring down the soften the flavour.
