Caol Ila - 2018 Special Release Single Malt Scotch 15 year old Whisky The other side to Caol Ila, unpeated and slightly sherried in character.  Shall we?  There have been a few of these unpeated releases but this may well be the best yet. Breakfast table aromas of baked bread, butter, raspberry jam and marmalade sprint forth out of the glass.  The palate is oily, creamy and quite honeyed with a faint cocoa edge.  The finish has a little smoke in there (well it is Caol Ila) but nothing dominant and the over riding note is one of creamy creme fraiche. Think 25: Please be prepared to show ID when receiving alcohol deliveries.
