Glen Grant - Mr George Legacy Third Edition - Single Cask #3665 1959 63 year old Whisky Filled in 1959, this spirit from Glen Grant Distillery has been matured by Gordon & MacPhail in a first-fill Sherry butt made specifically to complement the spirit.A personal favourite of Mr George, Glen Grant was built in 1840 and is famed for its smooth elegance, produced by the site’s unique stills that have an almost square section between the pot and neck, with purifiers on the lyne arms.These uncommon additions combine to deliver a delicious autumnal, fruity and gentle character of spirit which has been expertly paired by Gordon & MacPhail to a bespoke first-fill Sherry butt. This perfect match gifts the whisky notes of soft citrus fruit, cinnamon and forest fruits.This whisky is a wonderful example of how careful maturation combines with distillery character to produce a unique single malt of rare age and exceptional quality.
