Ardbeg - Single Cask #247 2013 8 year old Whisky (Embassy Exclusive) Distilled under the supervision of Dr Bill on the 20th Febuary 2013 Wholly matured for 8 years in a 2nd Fill Manzanilla Butt Combining notes of smoked nuts with spice and brown-sugar sweetness, it gives Cask No. 0247, an Ardbeg legend, a unique twist.Tasting Notes:Colour: MahoganyAroma: Curiously dry and almost musty on the nose, with a note of reminiscent of a damp warehouse floor. Water releases some distinctive oily and nutty aromas, the roasted Brazil nut, fragrant woodsmoke, and a very distinctive, noticeable herbal top note.Taste: Peppery and warming on the palate, with flavours of smoked cashew and pecan nuts, smoky toffee, brown sugar, cinnamon, clove and tar. A very long, bittersweet finish, with huge layers of salty, tarry peat smoke, aniseed, leather and bonfire embers.
