Bruichladdich - Black Art 8.1 Islay Single Malt Scotch 1994 26 year old Whisky The eighth release in Bruichladdich's iconic Black Art series has arrived. Distilled in 1994, this 26 year old Single Malt is comprised of unpeated malts that have been matured in a variety of different cask types, the make up of which is only known by Head Distiller Adam Hannett.This release is exclusive to the UK market, with 12,000 individually numbered bottles being produced.Matured entirely on Islay, this is bottled at cask strength, with natural colour and non chill filtered.Official Tasting NotesNose - The complexity of flavours combining on the nose makes this a joy to try and decipher. Initially a citrus, lime zest, fresh orange style is met with rich caramel and oaky notes of dried apricot, pipe tobacco, maple syrup, oak shavings, toasted hazelnuts and vanilla syrup.Palate - That citrus style, lemon zest and and then the sweetness from the oak meets the palate beautifully, the texture is like warm honey and brings notes of maple syrup, walnut, toasted oak and wood spice.Finish - The finish is gentle, sweet caramel, dried fruit, sultanas, lemon drizzle cake, hazelnuts and milk chocolate.  Its' softness is calming.
