Tomintoul - Infrequent Flyers - Rye Finish 2014 9 year old Whisky Distilled at Tomintoul in 2014, this superb bottling enjoyed an interesting finishing in a rye cask. This imparted an intense yet satisfying level of spice, complementing the citrusy character of the Whisky. Nose: Pronounced citrusy notes - lemon meringue pie – combined with sherbet, almond pralines and custard creams. Taste: A well-evolved dram that belies it's youthful years. Intense, like an alcohol-infused lemon Callipo. Almond and raisin nougat, drizzled with honey. Super spicy, especially towards the end, as the rye cask flexes it's significant muscle, with notes of cinnamon and ginger coming through. Think 25: Please be prepared to show ID when receiving alcohol deliveries.
