However, probably the bestknown source of high quality bergamot oil is Italy. Indeed, it is the southern Italian town of Bergamo that gives bergamot essential oil its unique name._x000D_To ensure only the finest quality essential oil we also source ours from Italy; specifically from the sunny climate of Sicily._x000D_Our bergamot oil is extracted by cold compression of ripe orange fruit peel. This pure extract then passes through steam distillation to remove any furocoumarins. This distillation process creates a far more refined end product known in the industry by the acronym “FCF”. This precision processing renders the end product ideal as a massage oil or for use in homemade fragrances.
