It is native to Australia, where it grows alongside streams, reaching up to 20 feet in height._x000D_Tea tree leaves are rich in aromatic oils. Tea tree essential oil typically has a high camphor content, meaning it can be useful for helping to clear a stuffy head when inhaled. It is also believed by some people to have antiseptic properties, hence its use in many soaps and skin lotions._x000D_To extract the delicate tea tree essential oil the leaves are harvested, before being allowed to dry for a few days in the sun. This helps to concentrate the oil content. The leaves then undergo steam distillation, before the resultant oil is purified, tested and bottled.
