Seachem Denitrate™ is an economical, natural, and highly porous filter media designed for efficient nitrate removal in aquarium systems. With a specialised pore structure, Denitrate™ supports both aerobic nitrification on the outer surface and anaerobic denitrification within its core, allowing for comprehensive nitrate management. Its high surface area fosters a dense population of beneficial bacteria, essential for maintaining water quality. Unlike other materials, Denitrate™ relies on anaerobic bacterial activity to remove nitrate, providing reliable and sustainable filtration.

Why It’s Different: Unlike standard "live" or reef rocks, which also remove nitrate anaerobically, Denitrate™ maximises this process by channelling water through its porous structure, promoting optimal anaerobic conditions.
