Description

Known as the ‘weekend bean’ due to its high yields of long slender pods, which hold exceptionally well on the plant.Great quality variety with a classic flavour and fine texture. Good source of vitamin C, vitamin A and fibre.Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 15-20ËšC (60-68ËšF) is ideal. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 7-14 days. Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out 30cm (1’) apart, when frosts are over. Allow 45cm (18”) between rows.Delay sowing if soil is cold or waterlogged. Sow two seeds together, 30cm (1’) between each position. Allow 45cm (18”) between rows. Thin to leave stronger plant. Water well until plants are established. Pick beans regularly to encourage further cropping. For the earliest crops sow in April, protect with cloches once planted out, until pods form.
