This feed works by both preventing and treating problems in the urine. TROVET Urinary Struvite ASD Dog has an acidifying effect on the urine, reducing the urinary pH to around 6, and ensuring that no struvite crystals can settle. Due to the reduction of the urinary pH, it is easier for stones and crystals to dissolve. New crystals cannot form in acidic urine. Prevent recurrence If your dog has previous suffered from struvite crystals/stones, then the chance of recurrence is high. With a special diet, this risk can be minimised. It is important that, as the problems with stones are resolved, you continue to use Trovet ASD. It is a complete food, which can be given to your dog for life. Key features Maintains a low urine pH in order to prevent the unfavourable alkaline environment. Low potassium content helps maintain a low urine pH. Magnesium content is safely reduced, so in long-term preventive use there is no risk of a magnesium shortage in the body. Reduces the absorption of minerals that contribute to struvite formation. Composition Meat and animal derivatives (pork, chicken), grains (wheat), fish and fish derivatives, oils and fats (sunflower oil), minerals, sugar.
