KEY FEATURES Tongue and groove design ensures swift and effortless installation. For optimal strength, the longer sides of the boards should be placed perpendicular (90 degrees) to the joists, and the board ends must always align with a joist. Additionally, staggering floor board joints enhances overall floor resilience. Secure boards with screws at every joist. To prevent screws from protruding above the floor, countersinking is necessary, and pilot holes should be drilled into the floorboard to facilitate easier fixing. Avoid positioning two ends of the boards between joists (over a void), as this may lead to sagging and potential breakage when walked on, creating a weak spot in the floor structure. Butt joints should be located in the center of joists for optimal support. Using nails instead of screws may result in issues with the ceiling and plasterboard area beneath the floor, due to excessive hammering.
