Description
The US military M551 Sheridan was developed since 1959 as an airborne tank that can be floated on the surface and dropped from transport planes. The body was made of an aluminum alloy to reduce weight, and the main gun was equipped with a 152mm gun launcher that could fire a Sileira anti-tank missile in addition to the usual bullets. More than 1,600 tanks were produced between June of the same year and November 1970. It was first put into practice in January 1969 during the Vietnam War, and is very useful for base attacks using powerful multipurpose grenades.
