Chateau Robin Cotes de Castillon 2019 75cl Chateau Robin hails from the less well known Côtes de Castillon appellation. It borders St-Emilion giving it the terroir and quality potential to make great wines which offer excellent value for money.The estate’s vineyards are planted on part of the field which saw the Battle of Castillon put an end to the Hundred Years War in 1453. Its history is not well known, but by 2018 the estate had fallen into disrepair when it was bought by brothers, Jan and Florian Thienpont, part of the family who also own famous wineries at Le Pin and Vieux Chateau Certan.The 2019 wine is particularly notable for its blue fruit on the nose, with an iodine, mineral character. Nice tannins - silky, and good acidity - there's a crunchiness to the fruit here.Think 25: Please be prepared to show ID when receiving alcohol deliveries.
