Prairie Francs-Cotes de Bordeaux 2019 75cl Chateau Marsau lies in the Cotes de Francs, where Merlot planted on clay soils creates a wine reminiscent of top Pomerol.Under the stewardship of owner and winemaker Anne-Laurence Chadronnier, the quality and reputation of this impressive estate has rocketed. Anne-Laurence’s skillful winemaking, which draws out the estate’s innate elegance and precision, is matched by her vineyards’ fine terroir.The 2019 Prairie comes from a distinct vineyard on the Marsau estate, and has been made with no oak ageing and as little sulphur as possible. The resulting wine is as pure and focussed a Merlot as one can find. Notes of fresh victoria plum, blood orange, and wild flowers, with silky tannins, and a long, mineral, savoury finish.Think 25: Please be prepared to show ID when receiving alcohol deliveries.
