Description
Flora and Fauna, nicknamed by the late whisky writer, Michael Jackson, was a themed series of distillery only single malt whisky releases. Each distillery was given a particular creature as its symbol, which is elegantly displayed on each bottle's beautiful label.
A smooth, pleasant and lighter style single malt Speyside with tropical and fruity notes of ripe peaches pineapple and hints of lemon. Fresh, green nose with wisps of smoke, then light, smooth sweetness balancing to a dry finish.
Nose: Mild nose-feel. Closed. Lightly fruity - greengages and white grapes. With water, fresh and estery, but still relatively closed. Green pea-pods. Wisp of smoke - dead fires or charred wood. Very light medicinal note: Elastoplast. Nose reduces considerably with development. Warm wood.
Palate: Warming. Light sweetness, with some acidity.
Finish: Dry, medium length. Some chocolate and light coconut in the aftertaste.
