Vinification Details

The grapes are harvested by hand, with a careful selection of the bunches. Vinification takes place in a traditional manner in concrete vats, using indigenous yeasts, in order to preserve the wine's authentic fruit expression. Colour is carefully extracted from the skins, and the wine is then aged for 9 months in concrete vats.

History

Julie Rouffignac and her husband, Gérald Lafont, are oenologists from the South of France. As well as running their family vineyard in Lirac, they work directly with other top domaines to unearth and blend the most beautiful wines of Provence and the Rhône Valley.

Regional Information

The Gigondas vineyards are situated on limestone ridges, which are a key factor in preserving the wines' freshness and finesse. The diversity of sun exposures and the unique microclimate they produce give this Gigondas remarkable complexity and a strong sense of identity.
