Preparation and Usage

Cooking Instruction- Remove pouch from carton and place gravy sachet to one side.- Decant contents of the pouch into an ovenproof tray and cover the bacon with a small amount of greaseproof paper before covering the crown with foil. Place in the centre of a pre-heated oven for200°C/Fan 180°C/Gas 6, 20 minsRemove from oven and discard greaseproof paper and foil. Baste the chicken with the juices and return to the oven for the final200°C/Fan 180°C/Gas 6, 30 mins.- Rest for 5 minutes before serving.- Carve the chicken off the bone and slice across the width of the breast to serve.- Do not reheat.Gravy sachet.- Do not open sauce sachet before heating.- Heat the sachet in a saucepan of simmering water for 2 minutes or until warmed through.- Drain water and allow to stand for 2 minutes then open sachet and pour contents into a small jug.- Pour over chicken or serve on the side.- Do not reheat.ImportantNot suitable for microwave cooking. Not suitable for cooking from frozen. All appliances vary, these are guidelines only. Check food is piping hot throughout before serving.Pinking may be visible upon cooking, this is from the bacon.

Oven

Instructions: 200°C / Fan 180°C / Gas 6 50 mins Remove pouch from carton and place gravy sachet to one side. Decant contents of the pouch into an ovenproof tray and cover the bacon with a small amount of greaseproof paper before covering the crown with foil. Place in the centre of a pre-heated oven for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and discard greaseproof paper and foil. Baste the chicken with the juices and return to the oven for the final 30 minutes. Rest for 5 minutes before serving. Carve the chicken off the bone and slice across the width of the breast to serve. Do not reheat.

Microwave

Instructions: Not suitable for microwave cooking.

Hob

Instructions: Sauce sachet only.Do not open sauce sachet before heating.Heat the sachet in a saucepan of simmering water.Drain water and allow to stand for 2 minutes then open sachet and pour contents into a small jug.Pour over chicken or serve on the side.Do not reheat.

Storage

Suitable for freezing. Ideally freeze as soon as possible after purchase but always by 'use by' date shown. Follow the preparation guidelines above. Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 24 hours in the fridge. Not suitable for cooking from frozen. Once defrosted use within 24 hours and do not refreeze. Keep refrigerated. Once opened, consume within 1 day and by ‘use by’ date shown.
