Regional Information

The grapes for the Gran Reserva Chardonnay come from selected vineyards that grow close to the Pacific Ocean's coast in Chile's Aconcagua Region between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean. These vineyards are located on rolling hills at an altitude of 100 to 300 metres above sea level and produce perfect Chardonnay grapes. This late-season balance yielded fruit with excellent acidity, resulting in wines with fresh, vibrant aromas and a mineral finish.

Vinification Details

The grapes were hand-picked in the early morning and whole-cluster pressed. 78% of the must underwent fermentation in French oak barrels, where the wine rested on its fine lees for 10 months, enhancing its complexity and richness.

History

Don Maximiano Errázuriz founded Viña Errázuriz in 1870 when he planted the first French grape varieties in Chile's Aconcagua Valley. His initiative, creativity and belief that the best wines come from the best land has been passed down through subsequent generations and today Viña Errázuriz remains family owned by the Chadwick family. Working hand in hand with nature, the family and winemaking teams are constantly striving to produce great Chilean wines, produced in a sustainable, responsible way.
