Vinification Details

The grapes are harvested throughout late March to early April, machine harvested throughout the night to help capture colour and fruit concentration. Grapes are transported directly to winery once harvested and are crushed and de-stemmed. Fermentation is taken place in stainless steel vessels at 23-30c for 1-2 weeks. The wine then under goes Malolactic Fermentation and oak chips / staves are added to help with tannin structure and create a balanced wine.

History

Andrew Peace wines is a family owned and operated business, comprising a modern winery and a 180 hectares wine grape vineyard. The Peace family's achievements in creating a commercially successful vineyard/winery business in recent years have been little short of amazing, demonstrating a strong capacity to utilise technology, with enormous hard work and exceptional planning skills.

Regional Information

The Andrew Peace winery is surrounded by an eclectic natural landscape of Red Gum forest, desert, river, outback and lagoons. The warm and reliable climate of the Swan Hill region with its long warm sunny days, combined with the irrigation from the mighty Murray River, and rich red-brown loamy sand over limestone soils produce healthy flavoursome grapes with great expression and tannin profile.
