Preparation and Usage
Prepration Guidelines1. Remove chicken from bag and pull the legs out to open the cavity.2. Rub softened butter over the skin, then season generously with sea salt and cracked black pepper.3. Take one lemon and prick it all over, alongside one small bunch of mixed herbs, and place both inside the chicken cavity.4. Place the chicken in a deep roasting tray, and cook according to the pack instructions.5. Baste halfway through cooking.6. Once cooked remove from oven and rest for 15-20 minutes before carving.7. Use the flavoursome juices from the chicken to make the perfect gravy.CautionTo avoid cross contamination, do not wash raw poultry and use separate chopping boards and utensils for raw poultry and ready to eat foods. Wash hands after touching raw poultry.TipRetain cooked chicken juices to make gravy or for the perfect roast potatoes why not toss in the chicken juices before roasting in the oven.ImportantNot suitable for microwave cooking.Not suitable for cooking from frozen. All appliances vary. these are guidelines only. The chicken is cooked if the juices run clear when the deepest part of the flesh is pierced with a thin skewer. If the juices are pink, continue cooking until they are clear. Check food is piping hot throughout before serving.
