Preparation and Usage
Why not try these ideas with your paste......Dolloping some on top of hot grilled sourdough, drizzling with olive oil and sprinkling with fresh basil, for the ultimate bruschetta....Mixing 1/2 a jar of paste with 4 tbsp tomato passata, a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and a few basil leaves for a fantastic dip to serve with crispy crostini, garlic bread, or grissini....Stirring 1 tbsp into any dark stew, sauce or soup to take the flavour to the next level....Mixing 1 tsp with a little red wine vinegar, olive oil and fresh basil for a delicious dressing for roasted or grilled aubergines and courgettes.For a brilliant bolognese for 41. Place a casserole pan on a medium heat with a little olive oil. Add 500g beef mince and 50g chopped smoked pancetta, and fry for 10 mins, or until golden.2. Stir in 1 jar of Jamie Oliver brilliant bolognese paste and fry for 1 min more, then add a 400g tin of tomatoes and 500ml water.3. Bring to the boil, then cover and cook gently for 45 minutes (or bake in a 180°C/gas 4 oven for 1 hour), or until tender and the sauce is thickened.4. Toss through freshly cooked pasta and serve with a crisp green salad and freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
