One year, the locals built a wall around a field where the first cuckoo had settled, believing that if they kept it in the village they would be blessed with good farming weather and fruitful harvests, year round. Alas, the wall wasn't built high enough and the cuckoo escaped. To this day, anyone born and bred in Brindle is known as a 'Brindle Cuckoo'.The name of our gin is inspired by this charming tale of old and is a reflection of our local family roots and farming heritage. The BeesCuckoo Sunshine Gin is made with natural honey produced on our farm by Lancashire honeybees, bred and managed by The Bee Centre.Honeybees are one of the world's most important pollinators.
