Vinification Details

Made in the traditional way, the grapes are hand harvested in punched trays, then pressed in a pneumatic press. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out in temperature controlled stainless steel vats.

History

Cave de Lugny, specialists in Southern Burgundy wines and the largest wine growing cooperative in the Burgundy region, was founded in 1926 by Henry Boulay at Saint Gengoux de Scissé. The Cave de Lugny was created in 1927 under the chairmanship of Eugéne Blanc.

Regional Information

This Crémant de Bourgogne Blanc is produced from Cave de Lugny vineyards, all based around the village of Lugny in Burgundy, home of the Chardonnay variety. The soil is predominantly made up of clay and limestone, with South-South East facing plateaus and hillsides and the average vine age is around 30-35 years.
