Vinification Details

Deleafing and green picking is performed in January. Hand harvested in small trays of 20 kg in order not to damage the grapes. Double selection is performed: First selection of bunches and a second selection grape by grape to ensure only the finest fruit is used to make the Alta Yari Gran Corte. Cold maceration for 5 days before fermentation at 10ºC - 12ºC. Alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperatures followed with aging in French oak barrels for 16 months.

History

Born out of the desire to craft the best possible cru from a land that is dear to us, our ambition is for Alta Yari to become one of the most exceptional wine estates in Argentina. After leaving Bordeaux almost 40 years ago, I have had the privilege of working with many outstanding terroirs in Argentina, but the Alta-Yarí estate in Gualtallary is one of the best I have ever found.
